I have nothing but amazing things to say about this B&B. Our film crew stayed for two nights as we were working in the area. We were greeted with a smile and were amazed by the attention to detail and service for the duration of our stay.
Each morning we stayed, we had to be up and out the door by about 6a.m and we were blown away to come downstairs to fresh baked bread, hot scones, eggs, yogurt and granola with fresh seasonal fruit, and coffee/tea.
I truly am not a B&B kind of person but the level of privacy, the beautiful home and rooms as well as the food would bring me back time and time again.
I travel a lot in Canada and the UK on business, usually staying in hotels. A colleague of mine happened to mention this Bed and Breakfast saying how great it was so I booked three nights.
The young couple who own and run it were lovely and when I asked if I could have a no carb breakfast Kate excelled. I truly thought I was eating at a 5 star restaurant , the food was wonderful, she usually makes all her own bagels and bread etc for carb lovers. The presentation was awesome.
I stayed in one of the two wonderful rooms with its own little sitting room. The furnishings were fabulous and I had the most relaxing visit . I wish I could have stayed longer it wa so good Thank you!
This B&B is on a small, modern farm (50 acres) just outside Strathroy. The top floor of the house has been meticulously restored and has two rooms that each have sitting rooms and full ensuite bathrooms. The rooms are incredibly decorated, comfortable, and relaxing in every way. No detail is overlooked and it’s easy to recognize the high level of caring and thought that has gone into each room.
The beds are orthopedic and remarkably comfortable. The home is air conditioned, however we loved the cross-flow outside air and merely ran the ceiling fan. Our room had an old-fashioned claw-foot tub with an enclosure to have a shower. All of the bathroom amenities worked flawlessly. The downstairs is nicely appointed and has that incredible upscale rural charm. Outside there is a barn, goats (that seem to love eating expensive plants!) and Chloe, the family dog. Chloe will be fine with your dog. Katie will be fine with your dog also, however there is a reasonable $10/day fee for your dog.
Although the home and amenities are first rate, that is only one-half of it. Katie is the reason why staying at Caradoc Country is memorable. She’s out of your way, but there when you need her. She just simply knows what to say, when to say it, and just how to react to her clientele. Nothing is pretentious or unwelcoming when you arrive and begin to converse with Katie. You get the tour, what you can and cannot do, and more information if you ask. Katie is extremely knowledgeable of the area and farming in general, and she’s unforgiving and proud of it.
The breakfast in the morning was to die for. A freshly baked loaf of bread, fresh coffee, juices, jams, yogurts, cereals, fruits, – you name it, were perfectly placed on the table waiting for us downstairs. I personally have not experienced this level of breakfast in any place that I have stayed – B&B or hotel.
If this B&B were close to the GTA, it would reasonable to charge $250-$300per night. That is the level of comfort, detail, and level of service that is provided here. Consider yourself lucky that Strathroy is a small town and that this remarkable B&B is available to you for the ultra-value price that is being charged. I think that anybody that is visiting Grand Bend and/or The Pinery Provincial Park should put Caradoc Country B&B into your itinerary.
My husband and I stayed at the Caradoc Country Bed and Breakfast for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay from Sept 30 to Oct 3. The suite was lovely and the young couple did everything to make our stay comfortable. We were the only guests at that time and it was harvest time for the farming community yet breakfast was a feast. We did ask Kate to cut back on the variety and amount of food as we felt we could not do justice to the spread provided although we certainly tried! There was lots of space and books and movies provided. We were visiting relatives in the area so we were gone most of the day and evening. We also drove to Stratford to see a play the day before we left and the drive was about an hour, not excessive. We would not have bothered packing up to move to Stratford for one night where we would have paid a lot more to receive less. I did miss TV service as we are news junkies but this was a minor issue for us.
My wedding party and I stayed at the Caradoc Country Bed & Breakfast the night before our wedding. A beautiful century house with lots of character. The rooms are beautiful. We had lots of space to get ready on the day of my wedding. Gave us a beautiful breakfast. We were also able to take pictures on their beautiful farm. No shortage of places to take great pictures. The evening of our wedding, we stayed overnight and woke up to an amazing breakfast. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Thank you for your hospitality.
Our two recent nights at the Caradoc B&B were excellent. The three rooms (bed, sitting & bath) making up our accommodation were spacious, comfortable & clean and the cost was very reasonable. We liked the continental breakfast as it allowed us to lounge around, have an early coffee and sit down to eat when we felt like it without having previously agreed to a specific time. Wide variety of foods were available including hard boiled eggs, freshly made bread, hot & cold cereal, fruit, muffins, yogurt etc. Gracious hosts Katie & Matt gave us a delightful tour of their barn & farm animals. Highly recommended B&B.
I Recently spent a night at Caradoc B&B; the home is gorgeous and the hosts are absolutely wonderful. The home has a delightful old farm house charm complete with the faithful dog on the porch. There was homemade bread and muffins in the morning awaiting us – I may make the drive back to Strathroy for those alone.
I found and booked the night as a surprise for my wife for our anniversary and I think I knocked this one out of the park. In my wife’s words “This was perfect, thank you” I think sums it up best.
Great time with great hosts.
